Foundayo (orforglipron, Eli Lilly) and the Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide, Novo Nordisk) are both once-daily GLP-1 tablets, but Foundayo is a small molecule, not a peptide, so it can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. No fasting window, no thirty-minute wait. For many people, that alone will settle the practical question.
On price: the Wegovy pill has been on sale in the UK since July 2026. Foundayo was licensed by the MHRA on 10 August 2026 and is now available from UK pharmacies, and the early pricing published by UK providers undercuts the Wegovy pill's typical range. As a small molecule it's cheaper to manufacture and needs no cold chain, which should keep pricing competitive as more providers list it. Live prices for both: Dayo.co.uk and oGovy.co.uk.
Trial results put average weight loss at 11.2% for the highest Foundayo dose (ATTAIN-1, 72 weeks) versus around 13.6% for the Wegovy pill, close enough that convenience and price may decide it for many patients, with a prescriber's guidance.
