Boots Online Doctor is the digital arm of the high-street chain, operating as Boots Digital Health Ltd and registered with the Care Quality Commission in addition to the GPhC premises registration we verify. Consultations are reviewed by UK pharmacists, who prescribe if appropriate.

Its genuine point of difference is the retail estate behind it. Where almost every other provider in this directory can only post to you, Boots lets you collect from a store instead of waiting for a courier. If a delivery going astray or sitting in a warm van is a worry, that option matters. Boots has also piloted in-store weight-loss consultations with pharmacist independent prescribers in a small number of branches, where height, weight and BMI are checked in person rather than from a photograph.

On support, Boots takes a different line from the subscription clinics: it says the structured content is free rather than bundled into the price. That includes a ten-week programme, a tracking app and, per its own announcement, a twelve-month aftercare programme for people who come off medication. One-to-one coaching exists but is a paid add-on. For a self-directed patient that is cheaper than a programme provider; if you want a named coach chasing you, it is the wrong shape.
