If the idea of injecting puts you off, this is the honest account of what it involves, most people are surprised how little it is.

Mounjaro and Wegovy pens are pre-filled, single-use or multi-dose devices with a small, hidden or ultra-fine needle. The injection goes into the fatty layer of the stomach, thigh or upper arm, once a week, same day each week.

### The basics everyone learns once

- Wash hands, check the pen label and the liquid (it should be clear), let a cold pen sit a few minutes.

- Pick a site (stomach, thigh or upper arm) and rotate each week to avoid soreness.

- Press, hold, count slowly per the leaflet, done. Most people describe it as a brief pinch or nothing at all.

- Pens go in a sharps bin (your pharmacy can supply one), never loose in household waste.
